Amazon Prime is a paid subscription model ( for an annual fee of $99, or $12.99 per month)  offered by online retailing giant Amazon, offering such perks as free two-day delivery on many products, a

Google Search Adds 'Meaning Variations' to its Ranking Algorithm Google has been slowly but consistently moving its search engine ranking algorithm to focus more on the  intent  of a person's search and less on "exact keyword matching," the term it's known by in the SEO industry. Last week, Google gave the search engine its biggest update yet in that interest. Years ago, Google issued "close variants" to make it easier for the search engine to understand searches if they included plural words and accidental misspellings. The company has now

What to Wear for a Tech Job Interview

My love affair with fashion started at the ripe age of five, when I started requesting clothes instead of toys for birthday and Christmas gifts. While I’d never consider myself a fashionista, putting together a “look” is a cause near and dear to my heart. And I’m not the only one: Most candidates I talk to during their   recruiting process   ask the pressing question, “What should I wear for my tech job interview?” I worked at a staffing agency before becoming a recruiter at HubSpot, and I’ve probably interviewed about 4,000 candidates to date. That’s not a terrible sample size. So it’s safe to say I’ve seen it all when it comes to choosing interview outfits and helping my candidates dress for success.   Share everything you write (and code) on a public forum Today’s tech industry places a lot of weight on real skills and experience. So much so that the internet, in particular coding, has almost created a meritocracy in which tangible skills can equate to a four-year degree in an employer’s eyes. However, as tech recruiters often say, “If it’s not public, then it doesn’t exist.” If you are  trying to break into the tech industry, it’s crucial that you push everything you ever write/create, no matter how big or small, to the public. For example, if a potential employer asks “What’s the toughest coding problem you’ve worked on,” or “What’s the top performing piece of content you’ve ever written,” you’ll have real examples you can point to. It’s almost more impressive if you, as a candidate, can talk about something yo
